Welcome to Tropical Forestry Group
The overarching aim of our research group has been to understand the factors that influence the biophysical and socio-economic performance of forestry systems with an objective to improve these systems, particularly in respect to smallholder and community forestry in tropical developing countries. Our research has a strong applied and policy focus and is directed at informing evidence-based changes to practice and for policy development and implementation.
We have been working in tropical Australia (North Queensland), Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, Vietnam and Bangladesh. We also have collaboration with major international research and funding agencies including Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR), Centre for International Forestry Research (CIFOR), International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO), and universities including University of the Sunshine Coast (Australia), Queensland University of Technology (Australia), James Cook University (Australia), Southern Cross University (Australia), VU University Amsterdam (Netherlands), The University of Melbourne (Australia), Visayas State University (Philippines) etc.
We look forward to collaborate in your next research project !
